Belt Public Schools

The Belt DECA chapter took in the annual international conference in Anaheim, CA from April 26-May 1, 2024. Helping Montana secure the organization's highest honors during this conference, the first time in 7 years. Belt took 12 members, 10 who competed in competitive events and two who were selected to be a part of the conference's leadership program (Hans B. and Blake W.). 7 of the 10 competitors were awarded the DECA Certificate of Excellence scoring a combined total score of 70% or greater on the competitive event components in their event. The middle school track meet scheduled for Friday, May 3 in Havre has been canceled due to weather.

The EK-5th grade Spring Music Concert will be held Thursday, May 2, in the main gym starting at 7:00pm. Everyone is welcome to attend and support Mr. Cantley and his students as they celebrate Spring with their musical performances. The 6-12 grade Spring Pops Concert will be held Tuesday, May 7, at 7:00pm.

The Scholastic Book Fair is up and running! May 2 - May 8 - extended hours Thursday, May 2 until 6:30 pm and Tuesday, May 7 until 5:30 pm. Open 30 minutes after school on remaining days.

Statewide ACT results are in and the Juniors (Class of 25) did an amazing job scoring almost 3 pts above the state average. Statewide testing results can be found on the Office of Public Instruction's (OPI) website under "Assessment & Accountability"

Elementary & MS Boys Basketball Camp is May 13th-May 16th for boys entering grades 1st-8th. The camp will run right after school until 5:00 pm.

The end of the year FFA Awards Ceremony is May 2nd at 6 pm in the School Cafeteria. If you have questions about the event please contact Mrs. Simons.

Congrats to all of the Belt Middle School students who participated in the Montana Council of Teacher of Mathematics (MCTM) Math Competition last month in Great Falls. Special recognition goes out to (L-R) Michael Gaylord, Wyatt Remington, and Nikias Esperza for receiving top marks and Superior Ratings

Congrats to Belt High School Senior Teagan Washburn on placing 3rd at the State FFA Convention last week in Billings. Teagan, who is a senior officer in the Belt FFA Chapter, placed in what many consider the most competitive contest at the state level.

Good luck to our MS boys' and girls' basketball teams as they wrap up their season at the District 8C Tournament on April 5th and 6th. Games will be held in Stanford and Geyser. Congratulations and good luck to Belt alum Kolby Pimperton and the University of Providence Argos women's basketball team as they play in the NAIA National Championship game on March 26. Congrats to our Belt Principal's Cup teams that recently competed at the North Central Montana Regional Principal's Cup at Simms HS. Over 30 teams representing schools both big and small from around the region participated in the Academic Challenge which saw our Belt Team return home with the Small School Championship Trophy.

A reminder that there is no school on Friday, March 29 or Monday, April 1 for Spring Break. Enjoy the weekend!

The Belt School will host a 6th-12th grade Spring Concert tonight, March 26, starting at 7:00pm in the main gym. All are welcome to attend and enjoy the performance. Thank you to Mr. Cantley and the students for their hard work and efforts this year!

The Montana Office of Public Instruction (OPI) is asking all school districts across the state to complete a Comprehensive Needs Assessment (CNA) to gather input from stakeholders. As part of the CNA, this survey is to encourage input on the direction of the school district and to provide feedback on areas of need, examine strengths, set priorities, and to inform an action plan for improvement. We have MS basketball games in Belt on Friday, 3/22. The schedule is as follows: Boys B vs Belt 5th Grade @ 3:00pm / Boys B vs Highwood @ 4:00pm / Girls A vs Highwood @ 5:00pm / Boys A vs Highwood @ 6:00pm. All games will be in the main gym. Saturday the Huskies will travel to Dutton for games: Girls B 11:00am / Boys B 12:00pm / Girls A 1:00pm. Good luck and go Huskies!

The Annual Early Kindergarten Round Up is Tuesday May 7th from 5:30-6:30 pm in Mrs. Anderson's Room. If your child is already registered for EK next fall or if your child is turning 4 years old prior to September 10th, please stop by to meet your teacher, new classmates, and to complete enrollment paperwork.

The MS basketball teams will head to Stanford on Friday afternoon for games. Game times in Stanford are as follows: Girls C 2:30pm / Boys C 3:30pm / Girls B 4:30pm / Boys B 5:30pm / Girls A 6:30pm / Boys A 7:30pm. The teams head to Winifred on Saturday for games as follows: Girls B 11am / Boys B 12pm / Girls A 1pm / Boys A 2pm. Good luck to our Huskies!
